Youmay have noticed there’s been rather a lot of building work going on by the Tate Modern. Well it’s all coming to an end because the brand spanking new, ten-storey Switch House is opening to the public next month. As well as providing cutting-edge gallery spaces for film, installations and live art, the Switch House will also be home to two new drinking and dining areas. The 100-seater, ground-floor Tate Modern Bar offers Tate coffee, craft beer and own-blend wines alongside a relaxed all-day menu featuring breakfast pastries and rotisserie chicken, and on level two there’s a dedicated Tate Modern Espresso Bar. Up top, there’s a fine-dining menu available at the Tate Modern Restaurant on level 9, and incredible panoramic views of the city skyline on level 10. Very swanky indeed.
