the release of the ‘1000 Palms’ LP, American surf pop pioneers Surfer Blood have released the bizarre yet beguiling video for the album track ‘Grand Inquisitor’. The video follows the journey of a washed up lute player who has been playing in a McDonalds’ carpark for 1000 years, from signing a major record deal to lo-fi 3D graphic style hedonism back to playing in the carpark, ‘Grand Inquisitor”s video is definitely the strangest thing you’ll see this side of lunchtime.

The track itself, although soaked in Surfer Blood’s instantly indentifiable laid back vibes, is a break away from from their poppier offerings with tempo changes, meandering melodies and just the right amount of neo-psychedelic meets sun-tinged. Catch them playing London’s Tufnell park Dome September 30th.
