Islington pub The Baring has just celebrated its first birthday and it’s continuing the good times by launching a summer alternative to the Sunday roast, a Sunday barbecue. Running until the end of August, the barbecue menu will feature some of the pub’s signature starters, like quail shish with garlic yoghurt & pul biber chilli and charred mackerel with cucumber & gazpacho, alongside a selection of mains all served with bulgur wheat, chopped salad & chimichurri, including:
- Shawarma spiced poussin, friggitelli pepper & garlic yoghurt
- Salt marsh lamb rump, kofta & trombetta courgette
- Tropea onion, fresh cheese & smoked almonds
- Hot smoked Loch Duart salmon, tomato buttermilk & fennel
- Grilled Normande beef rib for two
The Baring’s famous chips are also on the summer Sunday menu (thank god), and you can bookend you BBQ with a round of cherry tequila sours to start and grilled peach with meringue & hazelnuts to finish.
