When the sun does make an appearance there’s nothing better than having an ice cold bev in hand so we’ve rounded up some of the best summer tipples to crack open – when the weather does decide to play ball that is. From canned cocktails that are a great alternative to cider to vegan wines designed to pair perfectly with food, here’s what we’re sipping on this season.
Coupette’s Apples Can
Bethnal Green cocktail bar Coupette has teamed up with Maison SASSY to turn its iconic Apples cocktail into a can, perfect for al fresco boozing this summer. The cocktail is made from the juice of five different apples with calvados adding the kick and a nice toffee note too. Think of it as a fancier version of the cider you’d normally crack into in the park.
Pale Fox Prosecco’s Wild Strawberry Spritz Kit
A spritz has got to be the ultimate summer drink and strawberries have got to be the ultimate summer fruit, so Pale Fox Prosecco have combined the two with this Wild Strawberry Spritz Kit. It contains Pale Fox Single Estate Prosecco, Amaro, wild strawberry syrup, Dash lemon and dried orange wheels to garnish, and there’s enough there to shake up six cocktails.
La Fiorita Ninfalia 2020 Rosato
Make it rose all day with the new Ninfalia vintage from La Fiorita in Montalcino in Tuscany. It’s made form 100% Sangiovese grapes, picked earlier than the ones that would go into the vineyard’s red wines and left to age for seven months, to strike the perfect balance between depth and freshness.
Tuscan Tree
You can still get involved in apertivo hour if you’re on the wagon thanks to the new non-alcoholic Tuscan Tree made from blood orange juice, 0% ABV Italian sparkling wine, and botanicals like cinnamon bark, rhubarb root and cardamom. Top up with soda for a booze-free alternative to an Aperol spritz.
Belvedere’s Lemon & Basil Organic Infusions
Belvedere is getting fruity this summer with its new Organic Infusions range, featuring natural botanical and fruit flavours blended with its super-premium Polish rye vodka. The lemon & basil with a touch of elderflower one is our fave and it makes for an extra-refreshing vodka soda.
