The Notting Hill sushi spot is heading to Devonshire Street
SUMI, one of London’s most-loved sushi and Japanese restaurants, is opening a second site in Marylebone later this year, taking over 26-27 Devonshire Street.
The new opening comes from Creative Restaurant Group, the team behind IGNI, Kioku by Endo and Gize, led by Managing Director Milena Floyd and Culinary Director Endo Kazutoshi, whose Michelin-starred Endo at The Rotunda is where SUMI’s more casual, neighbourhood spirit originated. Marylebone will be a new iteration of the Notting Hill original rather than a straight copy-paste, though details on the menu and interiors are still under wraps.
“We have been looking for the perfect location for SUMI’s second site for some time, and Marylebone feels exactly right, we truly love the area and everything about its unique character and community,” says Milena Floyd, Managing Director of Creative Restaurant Group. “Notting Hill remains our much-loved home, but we are very excited to bring our neighbourhood Japanese concept to this wonderful new setting.”
