STEPNEY CITY FARM CAFE TURNS INTO THE ALLOTMENT KITCHEN

Stepney City Farm’s cafe is getting a makeover and turning into The Allotment Kitchen, headed up by Betty Gilbert and Lucy Cuthbert. To help launch the new kitchen and raise some money for the farm during lockdown, the pair have teamed up with Ben Tish of Norma and The Stafford, to create a weekly menu inspired by his cookbook Moorish and featuring seasonal produce from the farm.

Dishes include slow-roast spiced lamb rum with mojo verde and faro, spice roast cauliflower with rose harissa and pistachios, grilled free-range chicken with roasted tomatoes and pan grattato, and aubergine parmigiana with English burrata. The menu will run for three Saturdays, starting on 16th May, with orders closing at 4pm on the Wednesday before. You’ll then be able to collect your orders from the farm on the Saturday between 12pm – 2pm, ready for a weekend feast.
