The time has come to reveal not only the theme but even more stellar acts to play Standon Calling this summer. The theme is rather ambiguously, that being ‘The Town of Two Faces’, which we’re sure many will interpret in their usual creative ways! But for now it seems any kind of cowboy or evil robot zombie will do. Even more exciting is the announcement that The Horrors, Giles Peterson, Patrick Forge, Bondax and Friends, Prides, the staple DJ Yoda & Cuban Brothers will be added to the line up of Basement Jaxx, Little Dragon and The Dandy Warhols.
Now if we can top any of those acts, we are super excited to see the troop that rocked Bestival seemingly every hour on the hour last year – Sink the Pink drag dance divas are taking over the infamous cowshed with their night Savage! The cowshed is a magical place where lovers meet, inexplicable things happen and then nobody can remember when they’re dancing at sunrise shouting ONE MORE TUNE!
DJ Yoda gives his best performances at Standon with amazing mega-video-mixes. In addition to all of this magic, the crowd is lovely and there are family activities, trapeze lessons, taxidermy lessons, a menagerie and a pool. Also BBC Introducing take labels Bella Union & Loose Music for takeovers and Dingwalls have Sunday Sessions.
