The Eccles Stout, the annual collab brew between St. JOHN and 40FT Brewery, is back for 2023 and the teams are celebrating the only way they know how, with a big party at the 40FT taproom in Dalston. As well as plenty of the black stuff (which is just as raisiny, spiced, smooth and Eccles-ier as ever) on tap, in cans and in sharing bottles, there’ll be a pretty incredible food menu too. Expect BBQ Eccles Pig Cheek Buns with whole confit pig cheeks, BBQ sauce made using Acme Fire Cult vinegar (fermented from the last two year’s brews of Eccles Stout), pickled onions and St. JOHN bakery buns. There’ll also be a veggie option: smoked carrot and Eccles BBQ glaze in St. JOHN buns. And, of course, there’ll be St. JOHN Eccles Cakes with Lancashire cheese for dessert. That’ll warm your cockles for sure.
