st james’s masterclass | still life painting with serena rowe

St James’s London is home to a diverse range of brands, from retailers to restaurants, but each one shares a passion for craftsmanship and skill. And now the residents of St James’s are letting you in on their secrets with a series of masterclasses. And for the next event in the St James’s ‘One of a Kind’ series, things are getting arty. Scottish landscape and still life painter Serena Rowe, who has exhibited at the Glyndebourne Festival and the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, is hosting a still life painting masterclass at Panter & Hall, a modern and contemporary art gallery founded by Tiffany Panter and Matthew Hall in St James’s.

During the evening, Serena will paint a still life to provide technical insight into how to tackle a painting and to show you how colour, composition and draughtsmanship must all come together to create a successful still life. You’ll also be able to look at some objects and sketchbooks from her studio to see how she uses memory, nature and colour as inspiration for pieces, and hopefully leave inspired to do a bit of painting of your own.

The masterclass is free to attend, including a glass of bubbly and a goody bag, but spaces are limited so get booking.
