SSAW COLLECTIVE IS COOKING AT MARGENT FARM

Take a trip to the Cambridgeshire countryside this August and learn all about hemp at this lunch series at Margent Farm featuring food from SSAW Collective. Margent Farm, which is fully organic and runs entirely off-grid, has been growing hemp since 2017 and has produced enough hemp fibre to build a farmhouse from scratch – the core of the plant was turned into ‘hempcrete’ for the interior structure and, with some help from Cambridge University, the exterior fibre of the plant was turned into a corrugated cladding material.

Now the farm is inviting over guests to explore, learn about hemp from speakers Tim Williams, soil expert and regenerative farmer, and Dr Darshil Shah, Assistant Professor in Material Science at Cambridge University, and tuck into an al fresco vegetarian lunch from Lulu Cox and the SSAW Collective team. Dishes include pickled habanada peppers & green olives, beetroot with tropea onion & goats curd, grilled century squash with coco beans & ricotta, and poached peaches with meringues & cream, all served with natural wines. There are only 40 places per sitting so get booking if you want to be there.
