SPICEBOX TO OPEN IN LEYTONSTONE

Leytonstone peeps, it’s about to get spicy in your neighbourhood as vegan curry house SpiceBox is opening a second site there this autumn. Taking over the spot where Vietnamese restaurant District Mot used to be, the new SpiceBox will be much bigger than the Walthamstow original with space for 90 covers. All that space means there’ll be a bigger dinner menu, with new dishes like bhaigan bharta, mushroom madras, samosa chaat and mango & coconut chia pudding, alongside SpiceBox classics like jackfruit jalfrezi, shroom keema, the award-winning red lentil tarka dhal.

The brunch offering is getting revamped too so you’ll be able to kick off your weekend with the Full Indian brekkie, the bacon naan made with THIS Isn’t Bacon, and the KFC Puda, chickpea & sweetcorn pancakes with Keralan fried chick’n, and you can even go bottomless with free-flowing frizzante. There’ll also be wines on tap and pre-bottled cocktails like the Masala Chai Negroni and the Cardamom Espresso Martini, custom made for SpiceBox by The Cocktail Society.

Founder Grace Regan will also be ensuring that the Leytonstone site has the same commitment to sustainability – you’ll be able to get your takeaways in reusable metal tiffins and deliveries will be run in house via electric bike. And if you can’t wait until the autumn to get your SpiceBox fix, the cookbook and a range of sauces and condiments are available to buy right now.

Opens Tues 26th October 2021
