They’ve been off the radar for a while but now Spector are back in business, with a new EP Ex-Directory including ‘Fine Not Fine’, dropping this week as well as a UK tour scheduled for May. Speaking about the new track, Fred Macpherson explains that it “came from a session where I panicked I wasn’t writing enough songs so tried to finish ten in a week. This one was a stream of consciousness inspired by the more self-loathing corners of sad twitter – looking at the state of your life a third of the way through and realising it’s just a veneer or an unconvincing brave face.” Tickets for the tour, which concludes with a date at the Scala, go on sale at 9am on Friday…you know what to do.
