SONS + DAUGHTERS TO OPEN IN KING’S CROSS

Sarnies incoming! James Ramsden and Sam Herlihy, the duo behind Pidgin and the now-closed Magpie, are opening sandwich spot Sons + Daughters in Coal Drops Yard, right by other sandwich spot Bodega Rita’s. S + D will be serving up sarnies, salads and soft serve (candied focaccia and rosemary flavour has us intrigued) alongside coffee, cocktails, beers and wine on tap.

The main sandwich menu will include the CHICKEN S+DWICH with Swaledale chicken, pickled cucumber, miso mayo, green sauce and soy-cured parmesan on white bloomer; the MERGUEZ S+DWICH with Swaledale spicy lamb sausage, S+D air-fries, pickled shallots, and gremolata on baguette; and the EGG SALAD S+DWICH with Burford Brown eggs, miso mayo and truffle crisps on white bloomer. There’ll be breakfast muffins in the morning and finger sandwiches on in the evening, like mortadella with truffled cream cheese; smacked cucumber with tahini, szechuan chilli oil and tofu smoosh; and fish finger with pickled jalapeno and American cheese.

And you can get a taster before the shop opens as the team has parked a van in Granary Square and it’s serving up mortadella, egg, and tenderstem sandwiches.

See where else we like to hang out in King’s Cross here.
