The SOAK is celebrating the Coronation by shaking up a menu of limited-edition cocktails
If you’re heading into central London to join in with the Coronation celebrations this spring, be sure to swing by The SOAK, handily located right next door to Victoria station, for cocktails and a bite to eat. The bar’s food menu really does have something for everyone, with dishes including seasonal pearl barley salad, fish & chips, biryani, and dumplings and wontons from Ping Pong.
The statement oval bar serves an extensive range of cocktails but for the Coronation, the bartenders have created a special cocktail collection featuring five different serves, which will be available between 28th April – 8th May. Whisky fans will love The Highgrove, made with Highgrove Single Malt Whisky, amaretto, lemon & mint, with leafy notes to represent the King’s love of gardening, and the All Hail The King, a smoky, sweet and sour drink made with Buffalo Trace bourbon, amaretto, lemon juice, fig syrup & vegan egg white.
There are also two garden-inspired cocktails on the menu; the Rose Royal, a twist on the classic Kir Royal, made with rose syrup, crème de cassis & rosé sparkling wine for a sweet, dry finish, and the Garden of England, with Bombay Sapphire gin, plum syrup, lemon & Angostura bitters, which is a reference to the King’s favourite spirit and is full of sweet, sour and herby notes. If you’re feeling particularly patriotic, go for the vodka-based red and blue Union Jack, which turns into a royal shade of purple when stirred.
With the limited-edition serves available across both May Bank Holiday weekends, there’s nowhere better to soak up the celebratory Coronation atmosphere, and each other’s company, than at The SOAK.
