SMOKE & SALT TO OPEN IN TOOTING
Smoke & Salt, the restaurant run by Aaron Webster and Remi Williams that celebrates smoking, curing and preserving, is moving from its shipping container at POP Brixton (which we loved) to a new permanent site in Tooting. Dishes for the new restaurant include smoked Chalkstream trout with dehydrated tomato & blackberry vinegar; roasted pheasant breast with woodland mushrooms & porcini rice cracker, crispy new potatoes with chimichurri & gorgonzola, savoury pastel de nata with Cornish gouda & pickled onion, and roasted pear with sweet hazelnut cake & sage ice cream.
The drinks list will feature reimagined classic cocktails, local beers from 40FT and Friendship Adventure, and wines from interesting small producers. Alongside an a la carte menu, Smoke & Salt will also be offering a six-course sharing menu at a very reasonable £32 per person. If you get down there from 22nd – 24th September when the restaurant is on soft launch you can bag 50% of the bill, otherwise they’re running the Eat Out To Help Out offer from the 25th to the end of the month.
