their third Album ‘Soft Will’ released last month Smith Westerns unveil the video for new single ‘Idol’. Released on 16th September, the new single encapsulates both a nostalgic celebration of youth, being a gently lilting and instantly infectious paean to fruitless hero worship, as Cullen Omori sadly sings, “I held you up to the light/ to see if you had a summer night”. The Sandy Kim directed video only serves to heighten these sensations of distance and alienation.
