If January’s already getting precisely on your tits, then we’d highly recommend sticking on the new video from SLAVES and having a good old stomp around to clear your head. Directed by Youth Hymns, the video for ‘The Hunter’ is a crude but colourful cut that sees band mates Isaac Holman and Laurie Vincent beating the shit out of their instruments and taking baseball bats to a variety of delightfully smashable glassware.
Combine the visceral visuals with the track’s wonderfully sneering vocal and a guitar riff that makes you want to put a brick through a bus stop, and you’ve got a pretty cathartic bit of musical cinema. And if all that gets you in the mood for seeing the duo live, they’ll be playing some of their biggest venues to date as part of the NME Awards Tour, with a London date scheduled for March 4th at the Kentish Town Forum.
