SIX SENSES TO OPEN IN LONDON

Six Senses, which operates 18 hotels and resorts and 30 spas in 21 countries, is opening its first UK hotel in London in 2023, taking over the old Whiteleys department store in Bayswater. The building’s original Grade II-listed facade, dome, central courtyard and grand internal staircase will all be staying put whilst the rest of the space gets transformed into a 110-room hotel, 14 branded residencies and a Six Senses spa. The spa will feature a large fitness space, 20-metre indoor pool, relaxation room and Alchemy Bar.

The interiors will nod to the building’s art deco style as well as added touches of contemporary British art with a staircase forming the centrepiece of the ground floor. This floor will also be home to a lobby bar and lounge and all-day restaurant that opens onto a courtyard, a wellness club complete with bar, lounge, restaurant, wellness rooms and co-working space taking over the second floor. We loved the Six Senses resort on Con Dao in Vietnam so we’re excited to see what they bring to London, even if we do have a few years to wait.
