For one night only, the UK’s first lesbian sound system, Sistermatic, will be back to turn Brixton Village’s Market Row into a street party with the help of Nite Dykez. From 1986 and 1995, Sistermatic was a pioneering club night run by Eddie Lockhart and Yvonne Taylor to provide Black Queer women with a space where they could feel safe, celebrated, and party to good music. Now, they’re working with Nite Dykez to put together an evening of music that has graced QTIPOC dance floors, spanning generations and genres – Sistermatic’s Shineeye and GIN and Mica Coca from Night Dykez will be leading on the music and it’s free entry before 8pm.
