RELEASED 10TH JULY 2015, GRAM GRAM

No, it’s not the Queen telling you you’re a 100 years old (even if you feel it after a double Bank Holiday whammy), it’s London four-piece Telegram and their new single Aeons. Their press shots are gloriously goth-glam, broody B&W, mops of raven black hair, and cheekbones you could grate parmesan on.

The sound is a bit Bowie, Can, and Floyd all mixed up and Aeons is a bubbling cauldron of rock. A whiff of discordant riffage? A very pastoral pinch of 60’s English rock style vocals? Some bobbing chunks of flange, reverb and feedback?  Let it boil, simmer in the middle with a tasty quiet bit and then give it a good stir. Release the full intensity, and wait to cool with a fade-out.

Released on vinyl as well as digital, with a cover of Brian Eno’s ‘Needles in the camel’s eye’ on the b-side. If you’re loving their style, then catch their raw, 18 month old sound at these dates:

JUN 06TH FIELD DAY, VICTORIA PARK, LONDON
JUL 15TH ELECTROWERKZ, ISLINGTON, LONDON
JUL 18TH BEAT HERDER FESTIVAL, RIBBLE VALLEY, LANCS
AUG 8TH PANORAMA FESTIVAL, MALLORCA
