6TH NOVEMBER 2015, HEAVENLY RECORDINGS

Their seventh album, Paper Mâché Dream Balloon dropped this month (November) on Heavenly Records, but we’re still working out their recent single, Trapdoor. We reckon it would be a perfect replacement for the 80’s kids show that had a faux creepy/cod-funk theme that was part Thriller, part Cameo. It’s the Oz band’s new direction: all acoustic instruments (each album moves in a different direction) played with fervent energy. The title is repeated, ad infinitum. The strings, flute, drums, double bass and vocals all have a ghostly, skittery feel to them, BUT! there’s a definite rhythm in there which the 7 piece have managed to get across. If you like your pysche-rock to drench your psyche with vibes, then give it a go. Trust us, it’ll stay with you for awhile.

Trap Door, released on Heavenly Recordings and is out now.
