BROKEN HANDS
DEATH GRIP SO RECORDINGS

If sleepy little Canterbury ever needed an alarm clock, just set it to Broken Hands o’clock. The band’s latest track ‘Death Grip’ picks you up by the scruff of the neck and gives you a damn good shake. Produced by Tom Dalgety (Royal Blood, The Maccabees, Turbowolf), Death Grip is as fuzzy as a grumpy muppet and crashes around like a ten year old in a dodgem.

With an intro that sounds like it’s beaming in from a far-away psyche rock universe, it wigs out with some funky drumming, reverb and FX, distorted guitar and lead singer’s Dale Norton’s urgent yet clear voice (a bit like James Dean Bradfield of the Manics). It’s an ominous little ditty, shoe-horning guilt trip, acid trip and death grip into the lyrics, but, the harmonies and pulsating riffs level it out nicely.
