Simpson’s in the Strand, which is temporarily closed, will be selling a curated list of its assets with a two-day auction
Simpson’s in the Strand, a legendary London restaurant, has been closed since the first Covid restrictions were introduced in March 2020. Now, as the fine dining spot gears up for a ‘new chapter’, it’s been announced that there’ll be an auction which will see some of the restaurant’s most iconic assets go up for sale.
One of the city’s oldest restaurants, Simpson’s in the Strand has been around since 1828, so you can expect to find some real treasures in the auction, which will occur over two days in August. Among the items that’ll be available will be pieces of furniture, lighting fixtures, the restaurant’s famous Drakes silver carving trolleys and fine Wedgewood crockery. The auction will be held in person at the restaurant, as well as being webcast online. If you want the chance to get your hands on some of these historic pieces, make sure you keep the 2nd and 3rd of August free.
