Shelter is launching a new campaign this September to help Londoners get more life out of their clothes
Housing and homelessness charity Shelter is on a mission to get us all shopping sustainably by getting us to donate more of our unwanted clothes – you can’t shop secondhand and support the circular economy if people aren’t giving away their old clothes can ya? With Shelter’s new Resale Therapy campaign, the charity is encouraging us to commit to both donating unused items as well as mending those pieces you still love.
Shelter has teamed up with a line-up of top fashion influencers for this year’s campaign, including Dani Dawkins, Penny Salman and Susanna Mensah, who’ll be hosting a series of events and workshops where Londoners can learn how to make the most of their clothes. Shoppers will also get to hear the creators’ best charity shop tips and tricks as well as how to upcycle, mend or alter their clothes to make them last even longer.
The events will be hosted at various Shelter Boutiques throughout the city, and you’ll of course be able to donate your unwanted pieces or shop their range of secondhand treasures while you’re at it. All the profits will go to Shelter, meaning you’ll be helping the fight against homelessness just by doing a spot of shopping.
