SEVEN DIALS TO BE PEDESTRIANISED FROM AUGUST

Several streets in Soho have already been pedestrianised for the summer and now Seven Dials is following suit with timed road closures coming into practice from August. Whereas the Soho scheme is about creating more space for bars and restaurants to trade under social distancing guidelines, the Seven Dials road closures are being introduced primarily to make it easier for pedestrians and cyclists to get around the area.

The roads leading into Seven Dials will be closed to traffic from 10am to 6pm seven days a week, starting on 3rd August and running to the end of th year, with barriers and a security team in place to enforce them. Additional bike parking spots will be added to the area as will extra hand sanitiser stations. There’s also talk about the council relaxing licensing laws so outdoor seating for the bars and restaurants in the area may well be on the way too.
