Selfridges is opening the world’s first permanent cinema in a department store this November. The three-screen cinema – two seating around 80 with a smaller one with a capacity of around 30 – is being run in conjunction with Olympic Studios (who have cinemas in Barnes and Battersea), and it’ll be the real deal with food and drink on offer too. The programme will be a mix of new releases and indie flicks, with Frozen 2 and Le Mans 66 both slated for the first week. You’ll be able to access the cinema both from inside Selfridges and through its own entrance on Duke Street, and it’ll stay open after the store has shut for the night.
