SELFRIDGES THEATRE

shakespeare

To be or not to be is the question and for Selfridges there was no doubt about it when it came to opening a theatre to mark the anniversary of Shakespeare’s death. The 100-seat auditorium will have the traditional box office, royal box and rig from Whitebox, but this is no ordinary theatre with a traverse and raised catwalk. Hooking up with Faction, the reFASHIONed theatre will put a 21st century spin on Shakespeare’s classic Much Ado About Nothing. But in the run up to the event Selfridges’ windows will come to life as the cast will rehearse in the space, RADA will host stagecraft workshops and there will even be a masterclasses in stage make-up from MAC. Alongside a whole series of art and music performances with grime and spoken word artists taking to the stage for Shakespeare reCITED. To go, or not to go? We think we know the answer…
