AVA London is back for its ninth year from 24th – 26th September, and the latest wave of programme additions has landed. The festival brings together pioneering creatives to explore the future of electronic music, visual arts, and creativity through a programme of events split across daytime conferences and after-dark club events. The newest names joining the lineup span music, media and nightlife and include FLOHIO, Jamz Supernova, Fabio & Grooverider, Footsie, Shy One, ELKKA, Tim & Barry, Nadine Noor and plenty more.
The night programme spreads across some of London’s best venues. It all opens on Thursday 24th with an intimate storytelling night from Seanchoíche at the Round Chapel in Clapton. Friday brings an RA25 celebration at Outernet Live with Blawan, Mala and Bitter Babe, plus a simultaneous AVA takeover of FOLD featuring Optimo, Swoose and Holly Lester. Saturday moves to EartH in Dalston for a Stay On Sight takeover with Skin On Skin, Evian Christ and Croatian Amor.
On the conference side, highlights include Black is a Spectrum (presented by East Bank, gathering Footsie, Jamz Supernova, FLOHIO and Shy One), a live No Tags podcast marking 25 years of Tim & Barry, a Fabio & Grooverider keynote on three decades of drum & bass, and Queer Nightlife Beyond Crisis. They join an already stacked bill featuring Moby (beaming in for an EarthPercent climate keynote), Oklou, The Avalanches and immersive art collective teamLab.
At a time when London’s nightlife is under threat, events like this supporting the next generation of music and creativity are more vital than ever.
