Record is coming up soon, and one group of artists is doing something rather special to mark the occasion and to raise money for a very worthy charity. The Secret 7″ project will be popping up in Idea Generation Gallery in Shoreditch between Wednesday 18th to Sunday 22nd April to celebrate the art of the vinyl single and to raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Store Day
Seven artists have provided songs that will be pressed to limited edition vinyl and each will be housed in sleeves designed by celebrated visual artists. The designs will be inspired by the tracks and demonstrate how different people interpret the tracks in different ways. The event will feature songs from The Cure, Florence and the Machine, Bombay Bicycle Club, DJ Shadow, CSS, Noah and the Whale and Ben Howard with all seven being interpreted by over 100 artists, making over 700 designs in total.
Each of the designs is available to own in exchange for a minimum donation of £40 to the Teenage Cancer Trust but we encourage you to dig deep and give more if you can for this very important charity. Every penny goes to the charity, so every little helps. Although the collection is available to view from Wednesday 18th (10am – 6pm), the sale starts on Record Day itself, Saturday 21st. Dig deep – not only will you get to own a unique work of art but your donations will also help change someone’s life.
