Secret 7″ Is Returning to NOW Gallery for 2024

This year, the project will be in aid of War Child, the only specialist charity for children affected by conflict

After announcing that its seventh show in 2020 would be its last, Secret 7″ is making a comeback with a new edition set to open in March. The concept is the same: seven amazing songs are each pressed 100 times into 7” singles, paired with a one-of-a-kind sleeve created by a leading name in the art world and auctioned off. What’s the secret? Well, you won’t know which single you’ve bought or who designed the sleeve, until you’ve parted with your cash.

The singles this year include Hozier’s ‘Swan Upon Leda’, Siouxsie & the Banshees’ ‘Lullaby’, Paul McCartney’s ‘Pipes of Peace’ and The Chemical Brothers Feat. Beck’s ‘Skipping Like a Stone’ and the designers are currently being selected. With previous contributors such as Sir Peter Blake, Yoko Ono, Sir Paul Smith, and Jake and Dinos Chapman, you could well end up with a mini-masterpiece.

The singles will be on display for two weeks at NOW Gallery in Greenwich this March and an auction is earmarked for soon after. As always, all profits will go towards charity and this year the funds will go towards War Child, which creates safe spaces for children affected by conflict to play, learn and access psychological support. The organisation has also made multiple calls for a ceasefire in Gaza and for the UK to stop sending arms to Israel. This is a 7” worth going that extra mile for.
