SATSU LAUNCHES AT THE GUN

OK so we know the new regulations have put a dampener on eating out. But look at it this way: you can still actually eat and drink out, even if it’s just with your housemates. And that’s something we think is worth celebrating – which is why this weekend you’ll find us drinking and dining at Satsu, the new residency at foodie favourite The Gun.

The vibe is seasonal sharing plates with an Eastern inflection. But before you roll your eyes and wonder what else is new, hear us out ‘cos the Satsu menu is a stonker if we ever saw one. There’s salt-flecked rosemary focaccia, cured meats with lime leaf dressing (yum), oysters with a kimchi liqueur (double yum) and chicken parmi, fried in a panko crumb with ham and melted cheese (triple yum).

Satsu comes from chefs Reece Moore, Jenny Phung and James Shepherd, who between them have racked up experience at Bao, Dabbous, Texture, Shep’s and knock-out pop-up Ling Ling. And with those names on their CVs, it’s no surprise the menu is eclectic, intriguing and irresistible. And the deal breaker? Profiteroles for dessert…
