It’s going to be the first Mexican concession at Selfridges Foodhall
Javier Vera-Abbassi has created an award-winning salsa brand in Conchita’s, based on the 100-year-old recipes of his grandmother Conchita, and now he’s giving us even more ways to try them by launching his own kitchen. Conchita’s Mexican Kitchen will be opening at Selfridges Foodhall with a menu of burritos, tacos and salads alongside the Great Taste award-winning Chipotle, the Adobo, the Mango and Habanero, and the Salsa Verde and Chipotle salsas.
Dishes will be available for both eat-in and takeaway, alongside frozen margs and agua frescas, with the all-day menu including:
- Tinga tacos – chicken in chipotle sauce with avocado, red onion and coriander
- Cochinita Pibil tacos – slow-roasted pork shoulder cooked in achiote and spices with habanero & pineapple escabeche
- Portobello tacos – garlic-roasted portobello mushrooms with red peppers, avocado, goat’s cheese and jalapenos
- Jackfruit burrito – jackfruit cooked in Conchita’s adobo with black beans, cheese, pineapple, gauc and pico de gallo
- Beef Birria burrito – beef brisket cooked in guajillo peppers and Conchita’s chipotle with guac, rice, black beans, sour cream, cheese and birria consommé for dipping
- Nopala salad – cactus leaves, tomatoes, onions, goat’s cheese and coriander lime dressing
- Watermelon and Pepita salad – watermelon, red onion, mint and ancho roasted pepitas
- Churros with dulce de leche
- Tres leches cake
And in the next few weeks, you’ll be able to swing by Conchita’s for breakfast as breakfast burritos, conchas (a brioche-like sweet bread), and Tajin-dusted fruit will be landing on the menu.
