Phillips on Monmouth Street opened nearly 20 years ago. The celeb hairdresser has worked on the mops of everyone from the Hoff to Girls Aloud and was once in the Guinness World Record Book for creating the most expensive haircut for a whopping £8,000.

We went along for a quick snip and slice to check out Stuart’s techniques. The salon has a prime spot in Covent Garden, inside it’s not as flash as some other celeb salons but it’s simple, clean and none intrusive. The haircut started with a consultation from Stuart, who looks at the shape of each clients face before recommending a style that suits them most. After settling on a shape and plan it was over to the basin for a quick wash before sitting back in the chopping chair.

The cut was swift, Stuart explained his work as he went and after a blow dry we were ready to go. If you want to see more of his work be sure to check out his YouTube channel and pop by for a chop, who knows who might be sitting in the next chair!
