salon spy | seed to skin ritual facial

Luxury skincare brand Seed to Skin, which consists of a product range made from all-natural ingredients developed on-site at their Tuscan estate Borgo Santo Pietro, has launched two new treatments, available exclusively at Liberty. There’s the Vitamin Infusion Facial, which uses a machine to deliver vitamin serums deep into the skin, and there’s The Ritual, a hands-on facial that combines products from across the Seed to Skin range with massage, lymphatic drainage and reflexology. We tried out the latter at one of Liberty’s in-store beauty rooms, which also happened to be where Queen Mary used to pick out her jewellery.

The facial starts with the Divine Cleanse, packed with detoxifying green clay and marine plankton. It goes on like a balm and turns to a milk with the addition of water, meaning it does a double cleanse in one go…very useful if you’re too tired/lazy to do the two separate steps at home. Then it was onto the Radiance exfoliating cream; it has an enzyme complex to remove dead skin so you don’t get that tightness that can sometimes come with a scrub. Our facialist Tracey then gave us face, neck and shoulder massage to squash any puffiness and work out any tension. You also get a choice of a foot and leg or hand and arm massage (we went foot), whilst the Peace probiotic pink clay mask is left to sink in.

Once the cleansing has been done, it’s onto the moisturising. Tracey applied Eye Rescue Light Time, designed to tackle those dark circles, and the Cure, a super hydrating cream that helps promote collagen production thanks to its high concentration of hyaluronic acid and thermal plankton. She finished off with a generous spritz of the Alche’Mist, which has all the benefits of an oil-based serum in a mist, meaning it can be used anytime and even over make-up…a great little refresher in this weather.

The hour-long treatment was deeply relaxing and we could definitely see an instant difference on our face; there’s not much more we could want from a facial.
