Pimps & Pinups is arguably London’s coolest hairdressers with branches in NYC and London, uber trendy decor and some very fashionable staff. Located in Spitalfields the salon is open 7 days a week and serves beers and coffees with cuts along with rock’n’roll music.
We visited the salon early on a Sunday morning and even then every seat was taken and things were in full swing. Our stylist was Vernon, a New Zealander who’d been at P&P’s for around 2 years. We were after a trim and reshape of the bangs, nothing too major and Vernon was happy to oblige, listening to what we wanted rather than telling us what we were having.
After a wash and head massage he got to work, explaining the products and actions as he went. The salon uses Kevin Murphy products including the FAB Young Again serum which left my frizzy hair perfectly smooth. We left the salon still feeling very Sunday morning but looking very Saturday evening…perhaps we should have accepted that beer after all!
