If anyone in this city knows hair it’s Paul Edmonds. He’s worked with fashion designers, Hollywood actors, Game of Thrones stars and on Britain’s Next Top Model, and with that kinda CV we were more than willing to put our locks in his care. Located in a Georgian-inspired townhouse, his salon on Brompton Road is a little slice of luxury – forget the minimal, industrial looks of East London and think armchairs and table top lamps. Completely focused on giving you a friendly and personal service, this place is a bit of a labyrinth and you’ll soon forget you’re in a two-floored salon with 40 stylists, colour technicians and beauty therapists.
We went along to have a little bit of a re-vamp and manicure and were lucky enough to be put in the hands of Paul himself. With fine hair (and lot’s of it), it’s hard to get any volume, but Paul put his scissors to work and managed to give our normally straight hair a naturally wavy look – one that still looks good after washing! From start to finish, the whole service was flawless and we can’t recommend the Shu Uemura products they use to wash your hair enough; they’re silicon and paraben free and the volumizing range contains Himalayan crystal minerals that gives your hair a real lightweight feel.
