Errol Douglas in Belgravia may specialise in all things hair but the salon has been offering manicures for almost as long as they’ve being doing cuts and colours. They’ve recently taken on a new brand in Lady Showbiz, which makes high shine, gel-effect nail polishes that are cruelty-free, vegan and free from 12 toxins, so we went down there to try it out and give our nails some much-needed attention.
There’s not a dedicated space for nails at the salon so you sit at one of the hair stations and the manicurist comes to you. Janice Stevens has been working at the salon for years and she’s a total pro when it comes to nails. It’s a classic manicure so the treatment starts with a shape and file, and then a good soak before a cuticle trim and a quick hand massage. Then it’s on with the polish – Lady Showbiz has over 25 shades and we opted for a bright blue – and thought it doesn’t last as long as a gel mani, it definitely looks just as glossy.
