SALON SPY | GROWN ALCHEMIST FACIAL AT BOKEH SPA

Last summer, Bokeh by Montcalm East was awarded a 5 Bubble score from the Good Spa Guide but the spa isn’t resting on its laurels – it’s just added Grown Alchemist treatments to its offering, joining other brand partners like Temple Spa, Therabody and CBD brand OTO.

Grown Alchemist, which counts A-listers like Gwyneth and Kim K as fans, focuses on cellular renewal and nutrient metabolisation. Those products, combined with signature treatment techniques like neurolymphatic stimulation, anti-pollution mist infusion and cryotherapy, are designed to fight the effects that busy urban living can have on the face and body.

From the relentless pace to the pollution, London life defo takes its toll on the skin so the Grown Alchemist Detox Facial, which cleanses and revitalises, is perfect for a tired and tense face like mine. It’s a product-rich treatment, so after a thorough cleanse, a succession of serums, oils, mists and masks packed with antioxidants and peptides formulated to fight free radicals are applied to the skin.

There’s also a lot of hands-on, active massage during the facial with a real focus on lymphatic drainage. As well as a relaxing head massage, there was firm pressure on the chest and face to work out the knots – yes you have knots in your face, and, if you’re like me, with a tendency to tense your jaw when mulling over a tricky email, you have some real toughies – and I instantly felt a contour appear. Facial cupping, with its gentle suction action, was used to stimulate blood flow, and a few runs of cryo balls helped to reduce any puffiness, meaning I left with a firm, fresh, rejuvenated face – and a few facial massage tips in my back pocket.
