SALON SPY: DRYBY
Notto sound all American sorority on you, but a good blow dry is a basic human right. Thankfully the capital’s caught on and we welcome the flurry of blow dry bars popping up all over the place with open arms. The latest luxury beauty stop to hit London is DryBy, a Blow Dry Bar and Nail Studio, perfectly located just five minutes from Oxford Circus. Inside, the decor is all marble, rose gold and mood lighting making it look less like a salon, and more like a real-life Pinterest inspo page.
We started by flicking through DryBy’s look book of five classic hairstyles: The London (effortlessly cool bed-head), The New York (think Upper East Side glossy), The Tokyo (super sleek and super straight), The Rio (waves for days) and the one we chose, The Rome (because voluminous goddess is ALWAYS the look to go for). Next, our hair was washed and forty-five minutes later we were transformed, with a bouncy goddess mane even K-Middy would be envious of. Tempted by the Nail Studio (because our un-manicured nails obviously were letting the team down), we couldn’t resist a shellac manicure to accompany our new hair and headed downstairs to sort those cuticles out good and proper. The hardest part was choosing the colour…they have like a gazillion, but once that was done, the rest was smooth sailing, all the way to glossy polished town.
All that’s left to say is you can be sure of three things after a visit to DryBy:
1. You’ll leave feeling like a million bucks.
2. Your home DIY blow-drys will never look as good.
3. You will become addicted.
Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
