SAFFRON CIRCLE OPENS IN SWISS COTTAGE

US-based Indian restaurant group Saffron Valley has come across the pond to open Saffron Circle in Swiss Cottage. The group has five restaurants, all of which are in Salt Lake City, Utah (who knew?) and the London site will be its first international opening. Executive Chef Santosh Shah (previously of Cinnamon Kitchen) is in charge of the kitchen, which is serving up dishes from all across India, rather than focusing on any particular regional style.

On the menu there’s street food like spiced deep-fried chicken from Chennai and Punjabi samosa chaat; tandoor grills like saffron paneer and tandoori salmon; Kerala prawn, Calcutta fish and Chettinad chicken curries; and a full vegan menu too.

The cocktail menu takes inspiration from the love story of Maya and Rishi, and features homemade syrups and cordials, like the vodka, prosecco, guava, lime, raspberry and curry syrup Love at First Sight, and the dark rum, mango, puree, lime, sea salt and gingerbread syrup Juhu Beach.
