Rye by the Water to Open in Brentford

It’s not often we write about new openings out in Brentford but if you happen to live in the area, then Rye by the Water is definitely one you’ll want to check out. Open now for soft launch the pair behind the project are Ben Rand, former head chef at The Dairy in Clapham, and Janine Edwards, previously Head Pastry Chef at Little Bread Pedlar. Robin Gill (The Dairy, Darby’s) is also supporting on the project so it’s a very talented team all in all.

Situated in a new development on the very nicely-named Catherine Wheel Road in Brentford, Rye by the Water is indeed by the water, overlooking canals and waterways, and has a nice outdoor decked area too. Described as an all day bakery and grill, there’s going to be breads, pastries and cakes baked on site every day, plus coffee in collaboration with Caravan.

In the evenings, the grill part comes more in to play with a menu of steaks, grilled fish, pizzas, and pastas. Expect Cornish mackerel crudo with English peas and Amalfi lemon; tagliatelle, Cornish crab, tomato and basil; and Dexter beef chop with green salad and Agria potato gratin.
