at the Pembury situated above Roux at Parliament Square is the newish bar offering from Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux Jr – most of you will know him from Masterchef. We recently attended a Zacapa rum night there which was themed around matching cocktails with food rather than wine.

The bar/lounge specialises in Rum cocktails and if you fancy something a little different ask for mixologists Abdulai Kpekawa’s secret cocktails, such as the ‘Zacapa Cerveza’ with lime, beer, honey syrup and a malt and nutmeg foam, or the ‘Mayan Martini’, which stars Zacapa, gewürztraminer wine and orange bitters.

Our favourite was definitely the Zacapa Cerveza – it tasted like a trifle which can only be a good thing! The bar is more formal than the places we’d usually hang out in, well it is located in Westminster but a good choice for some sophisticated cocktails with great aunt Willamina.
