ROSA’S THAI CAFE FOUNDERS OPEN HOH SEK

Saiphin and Alex Moore, the pair behind Rosa’s Thai Cafe, have opened Chinese-inspired noodle restaurant Hoh Sek, taking over a former Starbucks in St Katharine Docks. By day Hoh Sek (which means “delicious” in Cantonese) is a casual affair with a grab-and-go menu featuring Saiphin’s Six; noodle dishes like red fermented tofu soup with flat noodles, prawn and squid, and pork noodle soup with choy sum.

Come evening, Hoh Sek flips into a 40-cover restaurant, with seats at a bar counter and more on the terrace, with extra plates like Hong Kong fish noodles and duck noodle soup bulking out the noodle menu. Not only does the presentation of the food change, so does the lighting and music so it’s different experience to eating there in the day.

And check out the Chinese restaurants we rate here.
