ROMEO AND JULIET AT THE ROYAL OPERA HOUSE

It’s been performed more than 400 times by the Royal Ballet ever since it was premiered in 1965 but the company (with the likes of David Hallberg, Matthew Ball, Anna Rose O’Sullivan and Beatriz Stix-Brunell dancing the lead roles) is at it again with a new revival of Kenneth MacMillan’s Romeo and Juliet set to Sergey Prokofiev’s iconic score, at the Royal Opera House.

From the lavish costumes and set design reflecting 16th-century Verona to energetic ensemble scenes to romantic pas de deux, it’s a dramatic and captivating production, so it feels fresh even though you know the story and the ending.
