robata opens in soho

We brought you news back in November that a new izakaya-style spot Robatayaki was to open on Old Compton Street. It’s now called Robata and it’s now here. The focus is on sushi, sharing plates, and skewers from the robata grill, with dishes including kurobuta baby back ribs, miso auberine, bao buns and wood flamed Iberico pork pluma.

As it’s an izakaya, the bar is just as important and there’s a big focus on sake, with a range of sake cocktails on offer as well as sake pairings. It’s an intimate restaurant with the robata grill on show at the back, so you should be sure of vibey atmosphere too.

Once you’ve eaten there, check out our fave Japanese restaurants in town.
