Clapton seems to be taking off of late with a handful of new bars, restaurants and cafes currently under refurb including The Heart of Clapton – a new pub from the people behind The White Hart on Kingsland Road. Now there’s another one on the horizon, Riley’s Bar and Social Club due to open this Thursday (29th March) on lower Clapton Road.

Formed by a group of friends local to the area, who rented the place in November and sold Christmas trees in order to get collect the funds to pay for a makeover – talk about community spirit! They are looking to serve good quality (and where possible locally sourced) teas, coffee, beers, ales, wines and some snacks and sandwiches in pleasant surroundings. It sounds like this summer we maybe spoilt for choice in the amount of little hangouts that are available. Get down, check it out and let us know what you think?
