The Mail Rail, aka the Post Office’s 100-year-old, 6.5 mile underground line that used to transport post between Whitechapel and Paddington, is being re-opened this summer and you can ride on it. Yes you can step back in time to see the original platforms under the Mount Pleasant sorting office before hopping on board a miniature train and riding the rails for a kilometre. There’s also a going to be an interactive exhibition dedicated to the railway at the Postal Museum with some original rolling stock on display, so you can uncover the secrets of this hidden underground line.
