Sunday morning LondOnTheInside found themselves outside the Dalston Lane café waiting for a table. A good sign you may say, popular with the locals…indeed. Around 15 mins we patiently waited trying to block out the hunger pains from the sight of the happy and content dinners within suppressing their hangovers. Greeted by a simple menu of traditional breakfasts with 4 sets to choose from they covered all the angels; from greasy to healthy to greedy to broke. Also on offer were sandwiches along with other home cooked meals like corned beef hash and beans.

The full whammy English set breakfast came in at £6.90 – fried egg, sausage, bacon, beans, black pudding, tomatoes, mushrooms, bubble and squeak and white toast – 20p extra for granary. The slightly smaller costing £4.25 included egg, sausage, bacon, tomato and mushrooms. Tea and coffee was on top, a slight grumble as it’s usually included in the breakfast, the orange juice was the Tropicana bottled stuff, but the food was good, the service too and the busy atmosphere was chirpy enough. Simple no nonsense breakfast with trendies a plenty!
