Trattoria Sapori is an Italian deli which sits on one corner of Newington Green. The deli specialises in fresh pizzas but also offers homemade pasta, antipasti, cakes and coffees. Inside the decor is simple with wooden furniture dotted around to give it welcoming, kitchen feel and a few tables outside if the weather permits.
We dived into a couple of pizzas – no sooner had we ordered, as if by magic the pizzas were placed before us. Efficient with a capital E! We opted for a Vegetariana and Calabrese, both made from fresh ingredients and a full 14 inches. The Calabrese was the clear winner, hot and spicy whilst the vegetarian lacked any real flavour. The dough, which managed to get the mix of deep pan and thin and crispy just right is available to take home for only £2.50, something we’ll definitely be trying!
The deli also offers free WIFI for customers and there’s plenty of room to work whilst you drink and eat. Next time we think we’ll try the Italian brunch…..
