LondOntheInside have never been to a vegetarian restaurant, actually that’s a lie we went to the Innocent pop up café but that wasn’t an actually restaurant. Tibits is precisely that, a vegetarian restaurant although unlike most restaurants Tibits is self service and the price depends on the weight of your plate. A concept we have only ever seen in restaurants in Brazil and Woolworths pick and mix.
Inside
the décor is bright and modern, with a chilled out vibe. The centre piece is the buffet of food which they call the ‘food boat’ containing over 40 dishes of hot and cold vegetarian food. We tried almost everything. All of the food was tasty and fresh, we particularly liked the pumpkin goulash, cheese quiche and lentil salad . We noted the dishes were constantly replaced, so they didn’t go stale. There are even a few dessert options thrown in, the pineapple and coconut tiramisu and tofu cheesecake were rather nice.We washed our meal down with some cocktails, after all we didn’t want to do our bodies too much good. All in all we would say Tibits is a nice place to go for a healthy tea, there are plenty of dishes to choose from and the surroundings are great. It is however just a little on the expensive side, two medium sized plates of food and one plate of three small deserts to share came to £27. However you can’t put a price on health and they do say Fruit and vegetables are good for you!
